The Women's West Texas Golf Association

Women's West Texas Golf Association purpose....
to promote good fellowship and encourage good sportsmanship among the women golfers of West Texas.
The Women's West Texas Golf Association was founded in 1935 and originated at the Lubbock Country Club. The association sponsors and supports an annual amateur golf tournament to determine the amateur champion for the ensuing year. The golf tournament is held at a different course every year. Women from across Texas come together to enjoy fun, fellowship and, of course, great golf.
The WWTGA tournament is a four (or five day) tournament that is normally held in June. The location rotates among the Host Club members. On the first day, the ladies play a qualifying round. It includes the 16 (or 32) low handicap index players and any other players who elects to qualify that have an index of no higher than 15.9. The format is then match play divided by flights.
Women's West Texas Golf Association is made up of host clubs, as well as, non host clubs. WWTGA has grown from the original 12 Clubs to 14 Host Clubs and 22 Non Host Clubs. We are always looking to add new clubs.
